So just maybe something good has come from Governor Phil Murphy's latest mandate earlier today requiring people to wear face coverings outdoors IF social distancing can not be maintained.

Jenkinson's Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach announced earlier that fireworks would be returning this summer on Thursday nights at dark, weather permitting.

I'm not sure if this is a coincidence that the fireworks announcement came on the same day that face coverings are required outdoors when social distancing can not be maintained or not but it seems to make sense that if we HAVE to wear a mask, people can gather to watch things like firework displays.

I hope Seaside Heights follows in the steps of Point Pleasant Beach next by continuing their summertime tradition of fireworks on Wednesday nights.

Most towns up and down the Jersey Shore canceled their fireworks for the 4th of July holiday due to the COVID-19 pandemic where town officials could not maintain social distancing due to the large number of people who come to watch the fireworks each year.

I'm sure people who will now be going to Jenkinson's Boardwalk on Thursday nights to watch the fireworks won't mind too much about wearing a face-covering...That's just my opinion (Trust me...I hate wearing the mask too)
