Having tinted windows is why an Ocean County pair were pulled over by Lakehurst Police, but having illegal drugs in the car was why they were arrested on Tuesday April 10 around 5:51 pm.

Police found Merissa A. Hoover, 37, of Little Egg Harbor and Timothy A. Pearson, 39, of Toms River in possession of 6-wax folds of heroin, 10-empty wax folds of Heroin overall, 15-hypodermic needles overall, a crack pipe and 1-sublingual strip of suboxone in the 2012 Chevrolet they stopped in between Route 70 and Elm Street.

They both also showed signs of being high or under the influence of CDS.

Both were arrested and brought to Lakehurst Police Headquarters for processing.

Hoover is charged with Possession of CDS, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Hypodermic Needles and Being Under the Influence of CDS and was issued two motor vehicle summonses for Tinted Windows and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.

Pearson is charged with Possession of CDS, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Being Under the Influence of CDS and was also issued a motor vehicle summons for Failure to Wear a Seatbelt.

They were processed and released on summonses pending a mandatory court appearance with the Ocean County Superior Court.

The public is reminded that all criminal charges are merely accusations and all subjects are innocent until proven guilty.
