5 Things Jersey Shore Residents Say Goodbye To This Weekend
We love the Jersey Shore in the summer. We are lucky to live here, but a Jersey Shore summer does come with a bit of a price tag.
We know how important the summer season is for local businesses, and this summer is probably more important than any in recent memory. That, however, does not change the fact that some basic things are about to change for Jersey Shore residents very soon.
Here are 5 things Jersey Shore residents are about to say goodbye to for a few months.
Parking Spaces. It is the annual battle for parking, and if you live in a Shore town, you better not move your car from the parking spot on the street. If you do, you may not have it again until September.
Open Tables. Your favorite restaurant is your happy place, and so is your corner table by the window. Good luck sitting there before the leaves start falling.
Open Lanes. In the next few days, you should carve out some time to say goodbye to the Parkway as we know it. Also, say what you need to about 195, any road called Ocean, and any drawbridge you love. You know what's about to happen.
Peace And Quiet. We never hear laughing, screaming, or vomiting outside in the middle of the night in February or October. Unfortunately, the odds increase in June, July, and August.
Serene Beaches. Remember those quiet walks on a nearly abandoned beach, when you only heard crashing waves and seagulls? Keep that memory close. It's going to be a long time until the next walk like that.
It's a small price to pay for a successful summer season, but it is a price.
