Street fight in Toms River sends one to the hospital in helicopter

A reported street fight in Toms River Sunday night remains under investigation as the details of what happened begin to unfold.

Toms River Police said officers responded to Hazelwood Road around 9:30 pm on Sunday night for a report of an injured person.

The preliminary on-scene investigation led officers to find out an altercation had taken place in the street.

One victim suffered serious enough injuries to be flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment.

The joint investigation between Toms River Police and Ocean County Prosecutors Office is ongoing.
