
Harmful Algae Forces Closure Of This Popular NJ Waterpark
It seems as though water contamination is becoming somewhat of a new norm in the Garden State.
Beachwood And Ocean Gate Beach See Repeated Closures

For years, the Beachwood Beach has had its swimming area closed due to high counts of harmful bacteria being found in the water.
At one point, Ocean Gate Beach also had its swimming area closed due to high levels of bacteria this summer as well.
Contamination Affecting Beaches Across New Jersey
We've seen it all over Jersey, too, swimming areas far and wide being closed to the general public after high levels of fecal bacteria and contamination were found in the water.

A lot of the beaches affected by the contamination are now reopened and are being watched carefully to ensure that more bacteria don't creep in, but it's still startling.
NJ Waterpark Now Impacted By Harmful Algae
Now, it looks like an NJ waterpark is the latest victim of water contamination.
Granted, waterparks always skeeved me out to begin with, I found a band-aid floating around in one as a kid, and was never really inclined to go to a waterpark again.
Splash Zone At Darlington Park Closed
But if you are a waterpark enthusiast, you'll want to pump the brakes before heading to the Splash Zone in Darlington County Park.
This is actually a pretty neat park, featuring inflatable obstacles and some slides, and according to NJ.com, the park was closed Friday afternoon because harmful algae blooms were found in the water.
Officials Target An August 10th Reopening
As of now, the Splash Zone is closed, but officials are working diligently to remove the blooms and get the park and Splash Zone back open to the public as soon as possible. Officials are eyeing up Sunday, August 10th, for a reopening date
