One Of The Best BBQ Joints In Ocean County, NJ Suddenly Closed
Is there anything more devastating than going to a place you really enjoy for lunch, only to pull on the handles and realize that the place is closed?
Just out of the blue, there's a 'for rent' sign or a 'for sale' sign on the window and the place is just empty.

Sadly, I've experienced this a few times since moving to Jersey, the first time was when the Moe's Southwestern Grill in Toms River just up and closed.
A co-worker and I drove over from the radio station to pick up some burritos and we saw a little sign that said that the Moes location would no longer be open,
More on that here, needless to say, we were devastated and were still craving burritos!

I remember when this place first opened a few years ago, I was blown away at how delicious and smoky the pulled pork was. I became a semi-regular stopping in at least once a month or so for some lunch.
Then, yesterday after I hit the gym I noticed that my favorite BBQ joint had a big 'for rent sign' hanging on the front door.
After I got over the pit in my stomach, I walked over to see what the deal was and was greeted by an empty restaurant, locked doors, and a touch of sadness.
It looks like the Smokies Craft BBQ in Bayville is no longer open.
I then got even more nervous wondering if their new location in downtown Toms River would still be open.
Fortunately, when I drove by it yesterday the lights were on and the 'we're open' sign was lit.
Now, if you're not in the Toms River or Bayville area, Jersey is still home to plenty of amazing BBQ spots you should check out.
