Rt. 88 Bridge Closing for Painting Starting Next Week

Starting next Monday (4/8), the road at the Rt. 88 bridge at the Point Pleasant Canal will be closed evenings for two weeks for bridge painting from 8p-6a.

The NJDOT says the full closure will allow workers to lift the bridge in order to paint components that are not accessible while the bridge is in the open position.

According to Star News Group:

From April 8 to April 19, Route 88 eastbound motorists will be directed to turn right onto Beaver Dam Road, then left onto Bridge Avenue east to go over the Lovelandtown Bridge before turning left on Bay Avenue to get to Route 88.

Route 88 westbound motorists will be directed to turn left on Bay Avenue, then turn right onto Bridge Avenue west over the Lovelandtown Bridge before turning right onto Beaver Dam Road to get to Route 88.
