Rt. 88

There are a lot of empty buildings in Ocean County. Brick Township has several that need to be filled. Before the pandemic some buildings were empty, but since Covid, more and more businesses and restaurants have closed.

Why do I think it's not open yet? I remember in June and July we were excited because it was opening soon, but when I drive by, it still looks closed. It sure looks like it's ready to open.

Starting next Monday (4/8), the road at the Rt. 88 bridge at the Point Pleasant Canal will be closed evenings for two weeks for bridge painting from 8p-6a. The NJDOT says the full closure will allow workers to lift the bridge in order to paint components that are not accessible while the bridge is in the open position...
