Retired Barnegat K9 Crosses The Rainbow Bridge
Last Friday, retired K9 officer Bullet walked into the Whiting Veterinary Clinic, surrounded by fellow officers, both human and k9, to cross the Rainbow Bridge.
Bullet served his community from 2010 through 2018 alongside Patrolman Robert Armstrong. Bullet helped the Barnegat PD seize thousands of dollars in drugs and cash, as well as search for criminals and missing persons.Bullet was a 10 year old Belgian Malinois suffering from serious health issues. Officers from the Ocean County Sheriff's Department, Ocean Township Police Department, Stafford Township Police Department, and Manchester Township Police Department came out to pay their respects for Bullet and Officer Armstrong.
I have a certain fondness for police dogs. We have a family friend who is a recently retired K9. Seeing that line of dogs standing outside the vet's office just brought tears to my eyes.
