Tropical Storm Isaias certainly wreaked havoc up and down the Jersey Shore today. While most of the Jersey Shore was spared the heavy rains, it was the wind that did so much damage to our area.

With wind gusts close to 70+ mph, trees and power lines were no match for the powerful, quick-moving tropical storm.

According to our sister station NJ101.5:

More than 1.3 million customers were without power in New Jersey as of 3:40 p.m. according to the utility power outage maps.

Atlantic City Electric: 187,524 customers without power
JCP&L: 691,944 customers out
PSE&G: 452 552 customers out

The outdoor tent at the Surflight Theatre on Long Beach Island completely destroyed by the winds associated with Tropical Storm Isaias. The storm destroying their outdoor tent, collapsing entirely the venue, stage, props, and the electrics light and sound equipment.

A GoFundMe page looking to raise $71,000 has been set up to help rebuild their outdoor tent and replace the equipment destroyed earlier this afternoon
