Part of the New Jersey Runpike will be closed this weekend, and sure, there may be some delays but it's actually for a really cool reason.
Fall in NJ Means More Races and Road Closures
Fall is a time of year where we see an increase in 5K's, Marathons, and other outdoor races. My mom's even doing the City To Shore bike race this weekend, another massive race that closes some roads in Jersey.

The NJ Turnpike 5K Will Shut Down Exit 15X
According to NJ.com, the reason for the NJ Turnpike closure this weekend is thanks to the NJ Turnpike 5.
This is a one of a kind race in Jersey, and it may be the first ever that takes places on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Runners Will Take Over the Turnpike Near Secaucus
The race will have runners taking over a portion of the Turnpike near Seacaucus, at the exit 15X helix.
Race Supports Special Olympics of New Jersey
The race goes to support a good cause; the Special Olympics of New Jersey.
If you're interested in registering to run this really unique race, there's still time for you to sign up, and it only costs $40.
You can also register the morning of the race for $50.
Road Closure Times for Exit 15X
The 15X exit on the Turnpike will close around 7 AM on Saturday September 27th, and the exit will remain closed for about 3 hours or so.
