Thanksgiving Eve has become one of the biggest drinking nights of the year, if not the biggest. Almost everyone is off on Thanksgiving, most people don't want to host a party before the big day, so everyone goes out to drink.

To try to keep some drunk drivers off the road, the New Jersey State Police are setting up DWI checkpoints.

Right now Patch is reporting a checkpoint being set up in Belmar, and ongoing checkpoints in Jersey City through November 25th have also been reported.

I know lots of people argue about whether or not police should be telling people in advance, but hopefully just knowing that it will happen can dissuade people from drinking and driving. Get a DD, call an Uber, do whatever you have to do, just DON'T DRIVE DRUNK.
