I have a big soft spot for animals.

Cats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, snakes, lizards, hamsters, guinea pigs, they're all great.

Recently, I even stumbled onto a few Instagram accounts of people who have pet pigs, and I'm all about it.

As I've mentioned before though, my fiancée live in a pretty small apartment and don't really have the ability to add a small little friend into the mix.

That may not be the case for YOU however.

Maybe you've been considering the idea of getting a family pet, or a companion for yourself but just haven't pulled the trigger for one reason or another.

If that's the case, July might be your month.

According to CentralJersey.com the Burlington County Animal Shelter is once again running their 'Clear the Shelter' promotion.

This means that you'll be able to adopt a four legged friend for your family with a discounted adoption fee.

What are the Adoption Fees During a 'Clear the Shelter' Promotion?

Throughout the month of July, adult dogs can be adopted for $25 and adult cats can be adopted for $15, according to the CentralJersey.com article.

From what I found on the Shelter's website, that's a big discount. Usually it's $75 for dogs and $45 for cats.

Where is the Burlington County Animal Shelter Located?

You can find the shelter at 35 Academy Dr, Westampton, NJ 08060, about a 50 minute drive if you're leaving from Ocean County.

When is the Burlington County Animal Shelter Open?

On their website, it looks like they're open Monday through Sunday between noon and four, however due to Covid 19 Protocols, are doing walk throughs and visits by appointment.

You can schedule you're walk through HERE and be sure to give the shelter a call as well at 609-265-5073 to ensure you're application for an appointment was received.

A lot of folks may pass over adopting an animal from a shelter because they aren't puppies, or kittens, or they think there's some sort of 'problem' with the animal.

This couldn't be further from the truth, sometimes the animal is abandoned, or the original owners weren't able to care for the animal the way they it should be.

My advice; if you can adopt an animal adopt.
