NJ Paddleboarder Has Close Encounter With Whale

A video posted to the Jersey Shore Dolphin/Whale Watchers Facebook group shows the close encounter that a paddleboarder had off the coast of Long Branch.

I actually jumped a bit when the whale breached that second time! Seeing it in the distance, then just watching the calm water, waiting for it, scanning the surface...the tension was awesome, and finally seeing it was a rush for me just sitting here. I can't imagine how hard my heart would be pounding if I was actually out on the water.
