For example, $100 worth of groceries will last my wife and me four days when just a few short years ago that same amount would keep us stocked up for a week.

Same thing if you look at the cost of rent, cars, and houses.

The prices have all skyrocketed.

I like to think though, that things are all relative, for example when my wife and I lived in Central PA, we were able to rent a two-bedroom house for under $1,000 a month.

But the cost of living in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania was also much lower than it is in a place like New Jersey.

Something to take into consideration is that living in a place like New Jersey, you typically make more money than in other states.

So yeah, things may be more expensive in Jersey from groceries to goods and services, but something to keep in mind is that if you work in New Jersey, odds are you're making more money than you would in any other state.
