It's not a secret that living in Jersey is great.

Sure, we have our problems like high property taxes, insane traffic, and ever-rising energy prices. But in my opinion, the pros outweigh the cons.

We have amazing little towns, easy access to the beach, great communities, activities, and our way of life in Jersey is just fantastic.

So it makes sense that when travel experts name the best towns to move to on the Atlantic Coast, a town from the Jersey Shore makes the list.

Although I'm not sure I wholly agree with the selection.

Cape May, NJ, Named a Top Coastal Town

According to APP, the popular, quaint beach town of Cape May was named one of the best places on the Atlantic Coast to live in.

And although I don't disagree that Cape May makes for a great weekend getaway, unless you're crazy-stinking rich, odds are you'll never be able to afford to live there.

Affordable New Jersey Shore Town Alternatives

So I have a few alternative towns that I think are among the best along the coast to call home, and they're a little more budget-friendly.

Beachwood immediately comes to mind; this small town sits right off the Barnegat Bay and has fairly reasonable home prices.

Manahawkin and Forked River are also nice little towns that sit off or near the coast that you can call home without having to buy a multi-million dollar home.-

And I'm personally prone to the little hidden gem that I call home, which is Ocean Gate.
