Opening up any new business is a difficult task. There is always going to be a risk that the business fails for whatever reason, but opening up a business during a pandemic is a bold strategy, and hopefully, it will pay off for this local businessman!

Michael Langsner of Brick was running a successful DJ company until the pandemic shut him down. With no live events, no weddings, no big parties to throw, Michael was stuck looking for a new gig.

Rather than sit and wait for parties to return, Michael took a huge leap and made the investment to open up a new sweet shop in downtown Point Pleasant Beach.

Looking through Haven's social media pages is driving me crazy because I want to try all of it. Check out their ice cream flight: four different flavors of ice cream, in case you can't make up your mind.

Haven's Sweet Shop is located at 512 Bay Avenue, and open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 1p to 9:30p, and Friday and Saturday from 1p to 10p.

Langsner's parents lived there for about fifteen years, and he has fond memories of the town and hopes to be a part of the community for a long time to come.

Langsner said "this project has been an absolute refresher. In the crazy times we are living, one thing seems to remain the same… chocolates and ice cream make happy people. Our goal is to be family friendly, to know our customers on a first name basis, and to know their favorite flavors. Even though employees and guests need to wear face masks, it is obvious that the locals and visitors are smiling in excitement!"

Thanks to my coworkers Matt & Shawn for the info!
