New Seaside Heights Brewery Looks To Open This Month

BrewMaster Madness 2018 has kicked off - perhaps next year, Heavy Reel Brewing Company in Seaside will make the tournament!

After an apprenticeship with Little Dog Brewing Company in Neptune, owner Jeff Greco is set to start his own business and add to the list of successful breweries up and down the Jersey Shore.

Greco bought a location on the Boulevard in Seaside last year, and everything has finally lined up for an expected opening later this month. Heavy Reel received the approval to begin brewing beer, and the first beer in the fermenter, a pale ale called "Drowning Clown" was brewed last weekend. Heavy Reel has already released some of their work, teaming up with Lakewood's Icarus Brewing on Bay Dreamer, which was released at Icarus.
