A three-car accident in Berkeley Township on Tuesday has led to the driver who allegedly caused it facing several charges and summonses.

Berkeley Police said that as the driver of a Ford Fiesta was heading north along Double Trouble Road on Tuesday afternoon they were struck by a Chevy Tahoe heading southbound at the time and trying to get onto the entrance to the Garden State Parkway South ramp.

The collision caused the Chevy Tahoe to overturn at the intersection between Double Trouble Road and the Parkway ramp.

When the Chevy Tahoe overturned, it hit a Nissan Rogue that was stopped at the ramp stop sign at the time.

That driver was uninjured.

Police said the driver of the Ford was brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for chest pain while the driver of the Chevy Tahoe, 33-year old Nicholas Schumann of Wharton, New Jersey, and his passengers were uninjured but brought to the hospital as a precaution.

Schumann was issues summonses for careless driving, fictitious license plates, having a suspended license, no valid insurance, and no registration.

While the investigation was going on, Double Trouble Road was shut down.

The vehicles were towed from the scene as well.

There was a careless driving related crash last month in Berkeley Township as well.

Berkeley Township Police said that the driver of a 2013 GMC SUV was issued a summons for Careless Driving after they struck a bicyclist between Mule and Charlottesville Road.

The driver said they couldn't see the bicyclist because of a sun glare at the time.

The bicyclist was brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment of severe injuries and was later rule to be in stable condition.

There were also a pair of DWI related incidents in Berkeley Township in September.

Berkeley Township Police said that on September 16, Lorenzo Garcia, 37, of Bayville was involved in a single car crash where his Nissan sustained front end damage, a cracked windshield, and deployed airbags with the alarm going off along Frederick Drive.

Garcia who fled the area following the accident, according to Berkeley Police, and was later found to be driving while intoxicated and had suffered a cut on his face in the crash.

He was brought to BTPD and charged with DWI, Suspended Registration, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving and his vehicle was impounded.

Garcia was later released pending a future day in court.

It was eleven days later on September 27 over on Mallard Drive where Jamie Rawlins, 39, of Forked River crashed into a wooded deck in front of a residence and then fled the scene.

Police found tired marks on the grass and pieces of the vehicle's vin number on the ground as well.

Rawlins was eventually found and then brought to BTPD where she was charged with DWI, Careless Driving, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

Her vehicle was impounded and she was released pending a future court date.
