A Seaside Heights man's day in court on Thursday resulted in a Grand Jury in Ocean County indicting him on several charges including Attempted Murder for a stabbing incident that occurred in the neighboring borough of Seaside Park on June 30, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer.

Porfirio Serrano-Cruz, 39, of Seaside Heights was arrested and charged after he had been identified as the man who broke into the victim's home early that morning over on O Street and stabbed a 39-year-old man in the arms, chest, abdomen, and groin.

The victim then called 9-1-1 informing dispatch of what happened prompting an immediate response by Seaside Park Police around 5:15 am, according to Prosecutor Billhimer, and once officers as well as EMS were on scene, the victim was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City for treatment.

He was later released from care.

As for the investigation, Prosecutor Billhimer said that the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit, OCPO High Tech Crime Unit, and Seaside Park Police looked into what happened and who did it and had the confirmation that it was Serrano-Cruz who was found back in his home borough and arrested by Seaside Heights Police later on that day.
