Multi-agency investigation leads to arrest of Trenton, NJ man for dealing heroin in Ocean County, NJ and Mercer County, NJ

An investigation involving several law enforcement agencies in New Jersey has led to the arrest of a Trenton man who was found to be dealing heroin across Ocean County and Mercer County, announced Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer on Thursday.

Investigators learned that it was 32-year-old Aramis Wiggins that was responsible for orchestrating this particular drug operation.

Earlier this month, Prosecutor Billhimer said that Detectives from the OCPO Narcotics Strike Force Unit worked with the OCPO Asset Forfeiture Unit, United States Drug Enforcement Administration - HIDTA Group 5, Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Unit, Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit, New Jersey State Police Crime Suppression Unit, Manchester Township Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit, Lakewood Township Police Department Special Crimes Unit, Toms River Township Police Department Special Enforcement Unit, and South Brunswick Township Police Department.

Together, the various law enforcement agencies poured together their efforts in looking into who was dealing heroin in Ocean and Mercer Counties.

They were able to develop information that led to identifying two homes in Trenton and a hotel room in South Brunswick where heroin was being stored and distributed by Wiggins.

With this information in hand, the Detectives from the aforementioned law enforcement agencies executed court-authorized search warrants on April 6, and by doing so it led to the discovery of approximately 1800 wax folds of heroin, 55 suspected fentanyl pills, a loaded Hi-Point 9mm Carbine Rifle, a loaded Glock 30 Handgun, a Stoeger 9mm Handgun, and approximately $9,000.00 in cash.

Wiggins was arrested at the hotel room in South Brunswick and was later charged with Distribution of less than One-Half Ounce of Heroin, Possession of more than One-Half Ounce but less than Five Ounces of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession of less than One-Half Ounce of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession of less than One-Half Ounce of Fentanyl with Intent to Distribute, two counts of Possession of Heroin, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Certain Person Not to Possess a Weapon, and two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon - specifically handguns.

He was brought to the Mercer County Jail but was then released by the Court because of New Jersey's Bail Reform Law.
