New Jersey has seen an uptick over the past couple of years when it comes to movies filming in the Garden State.

Earlier this year, Adam Sandler and his crew were spotted all over Jersey filming for the upcoming Happy Gilmore Sequel.

In fact, a lot of New Jersey residents ended up being able to be an extra in that movie, which is pretty cool.

The new Bob Dylan Bio-pic had a few scenes that were filmed near the Jersey Shore, including a stop in Cape May for a few scenes.

New Jersey has a rich history when it comes to film, in fact, some of the biggest movies in the world were filmed, at least partly, right here in Jersey.

I was blown away when I learned that movies like Independence Day, Godzilla, Goodfellas, and even some horror movies like the 1980s's iconic Friday The 13th were filmed right here in Jersey.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg, Jersey has a rich film history and due to our location right near New York, a lot of movies end up filming scenes in Jersey.

Movies I never would have thought of like the Dark Knight Rises had a portion of its filming done here in Jersey.
