Metallica treated the sold-out crowd at San Francisco’s AT&T Park to an 18-song set and the first full look at their massive, brand-new stage show last night at their ‘The Night Before’ concert, part of the festivities for Super Bowl 50 weekend. You can now watch the entire show above.

The group spent the night before ‘The Night Before’ running a soundcheck, and in their typically fan-friendly way, they allowed some fan club members in to hear it and see their new stage before anybody else.

Metallica posted a brief clip of the rehearsal on their Facebook page along with the caption, “The boys invited 300 of their friends and Fan Club members down to AT&T Park for a Sound Check Party while testing out the stage and dialing in their sounds for #TheNightBefore. Can’t wait for the big rock show tomorrow! #TooHeavyForHalftime.” They also tweeted themselves playing “Welcome Home (Sanitarium).”

While those videos only gave a brief taste of what was in store for the full performance, drummer Lars Ulrich promised that it would be a major event. “It’s big,” he told Rolling Stone. “I mean it’s really big. I haven’t seen it yet, but I got sent the first pictures last night, and it’s very vivid. It’ll light up the sky.”

On Metallica’s website, Steffan Chirazi wrote that their performance of “For Whom the Bell Tolls” was “like watching two beams of light hit a perfect cross-point of energy, a really great, electric, special, magical moment.” He added that the production is “a motherlode of epic proportions.”
