Construction has begun in Jackson on a massive sports complex that aims to become "one of the greatest sports and entertainment facilities in the northeast" according to developers.

Adventure Crossing USA is taking over 300 acres in Jackson along Monmouth Road, between I-195 and Six Flags Great Adventure. The complex will include a 120,000-square-foot indoor sports dome, two hotels, eight outdoor sports fields, and a 100,000-square-foot indoor recreational building with a trampoline park, indoor go-kart racing, and an area for video game competitions.

The developer's website has a ton of renders of what the site will look like, and if reality matches up, it's going to be incredible.

The project is expected to be completed in 5-10 years. Once the sports complex is finished, the second wave of construction looks to add nine restaurants (including some with drive-thrus), retail sites, and a gas/convenience store along Route 537. There's also potential for a third hotel, a golf facility, an expo center, a retail sports building, a facility with four to six hockey rinks, and an outdoor stadium for sports events and concerts.

We've seen the idea of a massive indoor/outdoor sports complex in NJ before (is American Dream still supposed to open in March of 2019?) so hopefully Adventure Crossing USA will have better luck.
