Marlboro, New Jersey Police investigating construction site incident that left a man injured
It was a scary scene on Monday and police in Marlboro Township are looking into what happened and if there was anything that could have been prevented.
Police said they responded around 11:36 am to a constriction site on Boundary Road after receiving a 9-1-1 call that a worker had fallen through a roof and landed inside the building.
The 24-year old from North Plainfield was working on the roof when he suddenly fell about 20 feet and suffered injuries to his head, back, leg as well as some possible internal injuries, police said.
He was conscious when officers arrived on location and was then brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
The worker is employed by Hageman Roofing Company located in Ridgefield Park.
Marlboro Police were joined on scene by the Marlboro First Aid Squad, Marlboro Fire Department, Quality Medical Transport and paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
Police said a Marlboro Township Building Inspector as well as an Investigator from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration also responded to the scene and the incident remains under investigation.
