Margate, NJ Is One Of The Most Off-The-Radar Towns At The Shore, And Most People Drive Right Past It
New Jersey can be kind of weird. And I mean that in a good way, unique is probably a better word than weird.
Bayville Is One Of The Quirkiest Towns In New Jersey

For example, at one point in time, Bayville was considered one of Jersey's quirkiest towns. That was mainly due to the fact that there are random dinosaur statues, massive champagne statues, and other little odds and ends scattered around the town.
Now, another town at the Shore is being called not only the quirkiest town in Jersey, but it's also being ranked as the most off-the-radar town for beachgoers. And I was a little surprised to learn this, because at one point, I used to visit this time every summer for a few days with friends.
According to Only In Your State, Margate, New Jersey, is not only one of Jersey's quirkiest towns but one of the most off-the-radar towns as well.
Why Is Margate, NJ, Being Called One Of NJ's Quirkiest Towns?

So what makes Margate so quirky? The architecture is one thing for sure, like Lucy the Elephant. A Massive elephant structure that's occasionally turned into an Airbnb. Margate also has a toll from what I remember to get in and out of the city, which is a little quirk in and of itself.
That toll has gone up to $3, and doesn't take EZ Pass, so yeah, pretty quirky!
What Makes Margate One Of NJ's Most Off-the-Radar Towns?
I understand why Margate is considered an off-the-radar town, though, because with it being just a few minutes South of Atlantic City, a lot of tourists coming to the Shore will just end up going there. However, Margate is a great little town that's worth a visit.
Grab a drink at Tomatoes, or a hoagie at one of the last old-school Wawas on the island, and you'll fall in love with this little beach town in no time!
