It wasn't for pickup or delivery but Manchester Police say a township woman hit another car before pulling away and then accelerating into Lubrano's Pizzeria Monday morning around 9:16 am.

Police who responded to the pizza place located in Hudson City Plaza on Route 70 this morning say 91-year old Ruth Aboff was initially backing into a parking space in a 2011 Toyota Camry when she hit the passenger's side of a brown 2010 Ford Edge.

Aboff then hit the gas, struck the parking block, the curb and went over the sidewalk and into the pizzeria shattering the glass and causing significant damage to the metal framing.

She was treated at the scene and was then brought to Community Medical Center for further treatment and evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.

The restaurant was unoccupied at the time and no other injuries were reported.

However, due to the extent of the damage to the pizzeria it was ordered closed pending structural repairs by the Manchester Township Building Inspector.

This crash is being investigated by Patrolman Jesse Hoydis of the department’s Patrol Bureau and Patrolman Ian Bole of the department’s Traffic Safety Unit.

Firefighters from the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company and EMTs from Quality Medical Transport were on hand following the accident.
