Manchester Township HS alumnus completes USAF basic training

The newest Ocean County enlistee to advance through the first grueling step of a career in the U.S. Air Force is a 2014 graduate of Manchester Township High School.

Airman 1st Class Shaquille A. Benjamin completed his basic training requirements at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, in Texas.

His mom and dad, Trevor and Sharon Benjamin, live in Toms River. He is also brother to Tyrone and Tashonna Benjamin.

Benjamin completed eight weeks of drills and instruction in military studies, discipline, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

He is also eligible to earn credits toward an Associate degree in applied science, through the Community College of the Air Force.
