It's another victim of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Tug of war officials announced earlier today that this year's tug of war between Ocean County and Monmouth County over the Manasquan Inlet that was supposed to take place in October has been canceled.

They are hoping to be back better than ever in 2021.

This would have been the third year of the tug of war competition between the two counties which brings out hundreds of people on each side of the inlet to watch tug of war matches between Point Beach gyms vs Manasquan gyms, Point Beach teachers vs, Manasquan teachers,  Point Beach lifeguards vs Manasquan lifeguards, and of course 105.7 The Hawk representing Point Beach vs our sister station 94.3 The Point representing Manasquan.

In 2018 during the inaugural Manasquan Tug, The Hawk beat the Point. In 2019, The Point beat The Hawk.

We were looking forward to beating The Point again this year, but it looks like we will have to wait until 2021 to put a whooping on them once again

Check out this Tug of War video going back to 2018.
