Lakewood, NJ man sentenced for distribution of Cocaine and firearms offenses

A Lakewood Township man has been sentenced to several years in prison for distributing Cocaine as part of an incident in Brick Township where he was arrested in 2021.

The charges and case against him were announced on Thursday by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Racole Muldrow, 38, of Lakewood, has been sentenced to six years in New Jersey State Prison following a previously entered guilty plea to Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute and five years with a five-year period of parole ineligibility in connection with his guilty plea to being a Certain Person not to Possess a Firearm, according to Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer who added that the sentences will run concurrently.

Brick Police responded to a home on Hooper Avenue on September 22, 2021 after getting a report about a potential domestic violence incident that took place there.

When police officers got there, they were informed by dispatch that the suspect allegedly behind the incident left in a vehicle described as a white Chrysler Town & Country and that he may be in possession of a weapon -- at that time.

Police spotted a matching vehicle heading north a short time later along Chambers Bridge Road and pulled it over.

Muldrow was a passenger in that vehicle and he was arrested at the scene.

The driver and owner of the vehicle consented to a search of the vehicle, Prosecutor Billhimer said, and as a result, Brick Police Officers found and seized "approximately sixty-five grams of cocaine, a quantity of marijuana, drug paraphernalia indicative of narcotics distribution, and a loaded Smith and Wesson M&P .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun." 

Muldrow was brought to the Ocean County Jail following his arrest and has been there ever since that date.

Prosecutor Billhimer also announced that Ocean County Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Robert Cassidy handled the case on behalf of the State.
