I was just sharing on the air today that I get super-emotional at the end of every school year. It's one more year 'in the books' so to speak and one less year of childhood. It all goes so fast! I got messages from other moms feeling weepy too.  Here was that moment on the air.

I had all 3 of my kids about 5 years apart in an effort to stretch it all out, but at the end of the day, time will still win.  It is hard to remember but we have to be in the moment now.  It is really something, in order to do this parenting thing right, we have to teach our kids how to not need us. It's never lost on me (or any of the other parents who wrote in) how painfully beautiful that process is.

With that being said, it occurred to me that the best times in life were when I shut everything down to simply spend time with my kids.  It is hard to do, we all have to earn money.  I used to justify over-working because I was earning money for them.  However, as long as their needs are covered, all they really want is you.

There is something so special about making everyone else in the world wait while you pay attention to your kids. That time is so fleeting, let’s grab it while we can.

Here are some sweet family activities so you and your little one can make your moments.
