Jersey Fisherman Land A Great White
Chris O'Neill of Little Egg Harbor, Joe O'Neill from Manahawkin, Sam Messler from Manahawkin and Robert McLaughlin from Barnegat were fishing for mako off the coast of Atlantic City, when they caught something unexpected.
Toms River Patch has two photos of the shark that Chris O'Neill took before it was released.
O'Neill said the fish was "not a monster", only 4-6 feet long, and the crew was never in danger. The shark took bait that was 40 feet down in the water and took about 15 minutes to reel in.
Great white sharks are prohibited to be landed by fishermen and must be released if hooked.
