Jeff Beck just got nominated for another Grammy Wednesday for Best Rock album for "Rock 'N' Roll Party (Honoring Les Paul)" and that got me musing about one of my favorite musicians.

He doesn't have the commercial success or wide recognition of many of his fellow guitarists.  But Jeff Beck is surely a master of his craft, and for that he's well-recognized.  He's got the grammys and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame status to prove it.

But most of all, he's got the chops and creative expression to be considered one of the best guitarists in the world (5th on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time).

Jeff's sound spans a wide array of styles, including blues, rock, heavy metal and jazz fusion.  If for some reason you haven't been turned on to this amazing artist, check him out in this video clip live in concert in 2007.  By the way, that's Tal Wilkenfeld on bass, a 24-year-old Australian who's gained worldwide attention for her own impressive work.
