
New Jersey Artists Up For 2016 Grammys
- Patti Smith and Janis Ian, both from NJ, will go against each other for Best Spoken Word Album.
- Montclair's Christian McBride is nominated for Best Improvised Jazz Solo for his performance on "Cherokee."
- Shemekia Copeland of Teaneck is nominated Best Blues Album for "Outskirts of Love."
- Paterson's Fetty Wap is up for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance with his song "Trap Queen."
- Tony Bennett, currently living in Englewood, and his pianist Bill Charlap of Wayne are nominated for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for "The Silver Lining: The Songs of Jerome Kern.”
- Lastly, the most nominations for a NJ native go to Charlie Puth of Rumson. He is up for Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media for “See You Again.”
