School officials say that the discovery occurs during midterm-exam period. They've notified parents and guardians through the regional district's electronic Parent Link system of texts and e-mails, and notified state and local police. Investigators are now tracing the source of the note. Authorities plan to comb the school Wednesday with bomb-detecting dogs, and students may be searched. Parents will also receive updates, and alerts stay on the Freehold Regional High School District web page.

Spokesperson Nakell Williams says that that district tolerates no threats of any nature, especially those that disrupt education and create "countless hours of work" to establish validity and secure students and staffers.

Education officials urge parents and guardians to talk to their children about the ramifications of threats against schools or other institutions, and they're encouraging students to report planned or potential disruptions.
