Certainly, the Covid-19 metrics across New Jersey have calmed down a tad after the omicron variant surged right on through the holiday season from Thanksgiving to Christmas and New Year on top of increased demand for tests just about everywhere led to a rise in cases, hospitalizations and deaths per day.

What happens next depends on how many people become infected, how many people are vaccinated and bolstered (something that continues to be strongly encouraged by state and health officials), and what safety precautions and measures are taken and enacted.

Outside of Covid-19 in the news, a Toms River armed robbery, a fatal car accident in Lakewood, Governor Phil Murphy is inaugurated into a second term as New Jersey Governor, of the 150 bills that were put on the governor's desk on Tuesday morning many were signed into law and created a busy week at the statehouse alone and some of the new laws created quite the conversation.
