The Pathmark in Laurel Square in Brick shut down for good in 2015 - it's been sitting empty for FOUR YEARS, just waiting for something, anything to take its place.

There had been buzz about another grocery chain, maybe a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's...other people suggested a gym, or a teen center...all sorts of ideas were thrown about, but as recently as this past February, Mayor Ducey said there were "no prospects" for the location.

Finally, we have an answer: CORRADO'S MARKET!

Corrado's is a third-generation family-owned specialty grocery chain with locations in Clifton, Denville, Fairfield, North Arlington and Wayne.

The market specializes in fresh produce, a full meat department with butcher, deli, fish, prepared foods and catering. It also will have traditional grocery items, as well as specialty Italian grocery. On top of all that, Corrado's will include a liquor store.

Paul Corrado, president of Corrado's Market, expects the store to be ready to open in about a year.
