Giants SuperBowl Hero, ’94 Rangers Coach, former Rangers player coming to Ocean County, NJ
If you're a New York Giants fan, a New York Rangers fan, or just a big sports fan, you'll want to mark down two days in March where you can get some great autographs and more!
On February 12, one of the greatest football players of all time (and that's a fact), former New York Giants legendary Linebacker, Lawrence Taylor #56, was in Toms River signing autographs, taking pictures, and speaking with fans.
My Dad, brother Paul, and myself went to meet LT at B2: Bistro and Bar in Toms River in an event organized by Bruce and Tyler with 'Father and Son Sports Cards', located in Forked River.
For all his legal issues off the field over the years, there have been some baggage and character concerns that have followed LT, and perhaps he's working on conquering those demons.
On this one day, LT smiled, was very friendly to my Dad, brother, and me even as we joked about his character Shark Lavay in the movie 'Any Given Sunday'.
There was also a card and collectibles show at the event that day as well.
Well, 'Father and Son Sports Cards' is putting together a couple more events in March where you'll be able to meet some former New York sports stars.
On Saturday, March 26, one of the heroes of SuperBowl 42, WR-David Tyree, will be coming to B2: Bistro and Bar in Toms River to sign autographs from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and take pictures with fans.
Tyree will forever be loved by Giants fans for his helmet catch in SB42 to help the Giants upset the New England Patriots.
On Sunday, March 27, the head coach of the 1993-94 Stanley Cup Champion New York Rangers, Mike Keenan, as well as former C/RW Ron Duguay who played with the team from 1977-83 as well as 86-87, according to hockeyreference.com.
Keenan and Duguay will be at the Mantoloking Road Ale House in Brick as part of a card show/collectibles event from 2:00 - 5:00 pm.
