I'd like to think this was what Christopher Nolan originally planned for the ending of "The Dark Knight", then some intern came up and said "it's been done, come up with a new idea."

Why are they wearing bathing suits outside of their costumes? Why are their costumes not wet? Why isn't Robin in costume? NOTHING MAKES SENSE.
