Four Brick men found with more than 2-pounds combined of marijuana
The Brick Township Police Street Crimes Unit sprung into action after several residents in the Kentwood Village Apartments off of Van Zile Road and on Van Courtland Drive were filing complaints of possible criminal activity taking place.
The citizen complaints resulted in the Brick Township Police Street Crimes Unit serving a search warrant on Wednesday at an apartment in Kentwood Village where the resident, Anthony Chieffo, 24, and two other men, Alexander Santos, 21, and Christopher Johnson, 19, all of Brick Township were on location where officers seized almost 7 ounces of marijuana.
Chieffo and Santos were charged with distribution and possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Johnson was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
All three were released on summonses to appear to answer for those charges.
On Thursday, the Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Van Courtland Drive that resulted in the seizure of over 2 pounds of marijuana and evidence related to other controlled dangerous substances.
The suspect, Dylan Ryan, 18, Brick was arrested and charged with distribution and possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ryan was released on a summons.
Brick Police Chief James Riccio said that he "wants to assure our residents that the Brick Police take complaints from our residents seriously and that we are here to ensure that our residents enjoy a safe, clean and peaceful community. The Street Crimes Unit is just one part of a larger effort to serve our residence unto that end."
