I remember when we were in the thick of the pandemic about three months ago, Governor Phil Murphy ordered all flags flying in the state to be lowered to half-staff in remembrance of all the victims lost to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the heels of 4th of July weekend, Governor Murphy has ordered that all flags will fly once again at full-staff starting on Friday, July 3rd.

During his daily briefing this week, Gov Murphy said:

"For each of the past 90 days, our flags have been at half-staff for every New Jerseyan we have lost to COVID-19, as a sign of respect to them and of solidarity with the families, friends, and communities they left behind and left a little bit emptier. Tomorrow, as we begin our commemorations of our nation’s birth, and as a sign of rebirth for our state as we keep moving down our road back, our flags will return to full-staff”

He also added that we "must be mindful" to more losses due to the pandemic.

New Jersey is in stage 2 of the reopening process, and just today Governor Murphy announced the opening of the following businesses:

  • Casinos
  • Museums
  • Aquariums
  • Libraries
  • Bowling Alleys
  • Indoor Batting Cages
  • Boardwalk Arcades
  • Outdoor Water Parks
  • Indoor Shooting Ranges
  • Playgrounds
  • Outdoor Amusement Parks
