The U.S. Coast Guard came to the rescue of a woman after two boats collided on Sunday afternoon two miles north of Barnegat Bay.

Watchstanders at Sector Delaware Bay received a report from a Sea Tow employee at 2:58 p.m. that a recreational boat had collided with a second boat that had run aground, causing injuries to one of the boaters.

A Station Barnegat Light 29-foot Response Boat, small boat crew, set out to medevac the injured boater.

The boat crew transferred the injured boater to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Station Barnegat Light.

The injured passenger was taken to AtlantiCare Hospital in Atlantic City.

No further details on the crash have been provided.
