With the first real snowfall of the season hitting us yesterday, it's the perfect time to remind everyone to CLEAN YOUR CAR OFF.

Drivers who fail to do so face fines of $25 to $75 for each offense, regardless of whether the ice and snow is dislodged from the vehicle. If flying ice or snow causes property damage or injury to others, the fines jump to $200 to $1,000 for each offense.

I know it sucks to clean off your car, and depending on your height as compared to the height of your vehicle, it might be tough to sweep off the roof. But really, it should just take a minute to brush off as much as you can before you leave. Don't be that jerk with a comet's tail of snow flying off your car as you zip down the parkway, don't be that jerk with chunks of ice sliding off your windshield. Just don't be a jerk.
