Atilis Gym, located in Bellmawr, NJ, has been in the news quite a lot lately due to the fact that the owners of the gym have been saying that they are going to open the gym today regardless of Governor Murphy's Executive order that gyms and fitness centers must remain closed.

An executive order was issued by the Governor in early March that all NJ gyms and hair salons were to be closed until further notice to prevent the spreading of the COVID-19 virus.

Gyms and salons have not been granted permission to reopen yet, and the owners of these small businesses, as well as the public, are growing angrier with each passing day they must remain closed.

Atilis Gym owner, Jim Smith announced last week that he would open his gym today regardless of the executive order and that it's not about making money, but rather a question of Constitutional rights.

To maintain safety and social distancing, owners arranged gym equipment inside and members were allowed inside at a limited capacity. Members also got their temperatures taken at the door and signed medical questionnaires and waivers before entering.

Many local residents showed up this morning holding signs and banners in support of the reopening of Atilis Gym.

Bellmawr police showed up to address the crowd outside the gym.
