FINALLY!  Organizers of Summerfest in Brick Township were able to pull of what was supposed to be the first event of the summer.  Back on July 1, Brick Summerfest was, to begin with, one of the area’s premier classic rock bands, Super Trans Am.

FIREWORKS!?  (more pictures of the fireworks are below)

We will always be talking about how last year's 4th of July celebrations were canceled due to the 100-year pandemic.  For the most part, most municipalities at the Jersey Shore made up for last year's pass.

As you probably already know, the kick-off to Brick’s Summerfest 2021 and all that was scheduled on that Thursday night, did not happen.  This time it had nothing to do with the coronavirus, but the weather.  Mother Nature decided she would create rain that day and cause the event to get postponed.

But wait, there’s more…

It rained on the rescheduled night too, July 29th.  Forcing organizers in Brick to reschedule again for Thursday, August 26.

Well, I am happy to say, the show went on without a hitch.  Despite a later afternoon thunderstorm in Toms River, the skies remained clear and dry as Super Trans-Am took the stage at 7 pm.

These guys ROCK!  Check out their setlist….

Super trans-Am is…

Bobby August:  Bass Guitar &  Lead Vocals

James McGill:  Electric & Acoustic Guitars & Lead Vocals

Paul Riario:  Electric Guitars & Lead Vocals

Jason Soltys:  Keyboards & Lead Vocals

And Lance Hyland Stark:  Drums & Lead Vocals

Lance is a true showman.  His drum solo was something to see.  With the energy of “Animal” from The Muppets, Lance uses glow drumsticks, his agility to move around the kit, and his precision to hit just about anything to produce a sound.

He really made an impact.

The individual members all have connections to some of the “great artists and cover bands from the east coast” such as Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Eddie Money, Yasgur’s Farm, and Garden State Radio.

As the Mayor of Brick Township, the honorable John Ducey introduced the band, he noted that the show was 418 days delayed.  Super Trans-Am was originally booked to perform at the townships July 4, 2020 celebration.  WOW!

It was well worth the wait, due to last year's covid19 delay and this year’s weather.

At the very least, we got to see an amazing firework show again.
