UPDATE - August 12, 2020 - Brick SummerFest 2020 has officially been cancelled. Click here for the latest.

Original story follows

In a highly anticipated announcement about one of Ocean County's most popular summer events, Brick Township just announced plans for SummerFest 2020.

Obviously, with social distancing rules and crowd size restrictions, people weren't sure what would happen to SummerFest for 2020, but thanks to the announcement from Brick Township on Wednesday, we now know.

It's actually not that drastic of a change, either, with the normal dates just moving by a few weeks, with Brick Mayor John Ducey saying, "Unfortunately, due to restrictions on the size of crowds, we had to move the series from July when we usually have it."

Normally, SummerFest comes to Windward Beach in Brick on Thursday evenings in July. This year, it'll be Thursday evenings in August.

Here's the lineup for 2020's Brick SummerFest concert series:

Thursday, August 6 - Super Trans Am - Canceled

Thursday, August 13 - Tribute to the 80s & 90s

Thursday, August 20 - The Amish Outlaws

Thursday, August 27 - The Nerds

As usual, the weekly Brick SummerFest shows go down at Windward Beach Park on Princeton Avenue in Brick.

The Township will run two shuttle bus routes; one from Veterans Memorial Middle School and Midstreams Elementary School, and the other from Drum Point Elementary School and Brick Township High School.

Of course, there will be a food court and beer & wine garden, the concerts, and fireworks to cap off each night.

Now, we do have to keep in mind that things could change between now and August, so the press release does note that the schedule could be modified to follow COVID-19 restrictions if there are new or different ones in place by August.

We'll keep you updated on the latest details for Brick SummerFest as we get them!
