Amazon Fresh Just Opened Its 3rd New Jersey Smart Store, Right Next To Some Major Competition

Even my washer-dryer unit talks to my phone to let me know when my laundry is done and if there's ever an issue or maintenance that needs to be done.

Don't get me wrong, I love the ease and convenience of smart appliances and tech, but sometimes you just want to unplug a little bit, don't you?

For me, that always came at the grocery store.

Whether it's ACME, ShopRite, or Stop and Shop, heading into the grocery store meant a half hour to forty-five minutes of strolling the aisles, planning out our meals for the week, and just unplugging for a bit to focus on the task at hand.

But now, even our food stores are smart, and the leader in smart grocery stores just opened its 3rd location in New Jersey.

Amazon Fresh Stores Continue To Expand In New Jersey

If you aren't familiar with Amazon Fresh, it's Amazon's step into the world of high-tech grocery stores.

The stores have smart carts that use a 'dash lane' that allows you to just walk out of the store without having to interact with a cashier, but still charge you, don't worry.

Amazon Fresh also uses Alexa at the self-check-out lanes to help get you on your way in a timely manner.

But Amazon Fresh also has the comforts of your traditional food store; a fish section, deli, fresh meats, and a wide selection of Amazon brands as well as other well-known brands.

According to NJ.com, Amazon Fresh's third NJ location opens up on August 22nd in Lodi.

The new Amazon Fresh is opening up shop right next to the Aldi on Memorial Drive, so it'll be really interesting to see which one of these supermarkets outperforms.
