It is still happening next year!!! The 2021 Seaside Heights Polar Bear Bear Plunge is moving to April in 2021.

COVID-19 has still not gone away, so just to be safe, the annual February event has been pushed ahead a bit to take place in April.

I was actually just wondering about the status of next year's Seaside Heights Polar Bear Plunge that normally takes place in the month of February due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2020 Polar Bear Plunge in Seaside Heights was tremendous which drew about 100,000 spectators to the boardwalk to watch approximately 8,000 people plunge into the 35-40 degree Atlantic Ocean to raise money for Special Olympics of New Jersey. A record $2.5 million bucks were raised last year. It was an epic day.

That is a lot of people, and there is no way that Murphy would allow the annual event to happen at this moment.

So...The scheduled date for the 2021 Polar Bear Plunge is now set for Saturday, April 17th.  Hopefully, we are at the end of dealing with COVID at that point

Yeah...It's not February. The ocean water might not be "wintery" temps, but April isn't much better, so I'm guessing the water will still not be pleasant.

Most importantly, the plunge will still take place to raise a lot of money for a great cause, and hopefully, there won't be any other setbacks that prevent the plunge from happening.
