Saturday in Seaside Heights, NJ was the Polar Bear Plunge to raise money for the Special Olympics of New Jersey.

This is the first year back in Seaside Heights for the plunge due to the destruction of the boardwalk from Hurricane Sandy.

It was a record year for the plunge. Over 6,000 plungers hit the water (myself included), while approx another 5,000 people watched from the boardwalk. Close to 1.2 million dollars was raised

The weather this year couldn't have been any better. Air temps were in the mid 50's with water temps around 33-35 degrees.

I plunged with team Simply Bums. Big thanks to Simply Sun Tanning and Bums Rogers Crab House in Seaside Park.
