It will be an odd feeling when the now infamous coaster finally is removed from the water in Seaside.

Earlier in the week, Seaside Heights officials announced that the new boardwalk would be open from Webster Ave heading south to Seaside Park starting on Saturday.
They opened it early!!
The first pylon for the new boardwalk in Seaside Heights was driven into the sand back in January, and starting this weekend, people will once again will be able to walk on the new boardwalk from Webster Ave south to Seaside Park.
Temporary railings will be installed but there still won't be beach access until Memorial Day
The arguably most recognized image of Sandy's destruction, the Jet Star Roller Coaster that ended up in the ocean in Seaside Heights after the superstorm hit last fall, will be taken away soon.
"Shore Dreams for Kids", the annual event in Seaside Heights that provides a day of powerboat rides and carnival-style fun for mentally and physically challenged children and adults is suffering financially since Hurricane Sandy.
The event this year is scheduled for Saturday July 13th.
